About ReconSight

Finding the golden equilibrium between credit risk and growth.

A dynamic risk engine for financial institutions — calibrated to grow the book where the risk-adjusted return is positive, and to provision defensibly where it isn't. Built for risk and finance teams who need numbers they can defend, not a black box.

01 · Problem

The problem we solve

Most lenders still close IFRS 9 in a patchwork of spreadsheets, vendor black boxes and manual reconciliations. Numbers move between systems without lineage, staging logic is hard-coded, and management overlays land in the P&L with no maker-checker trail. The result: provisioning surprises, painful audits, and a risk engine that no one can fully defend in front of a regulator. ReconSight replaces that patchwork with a single, governed platform where every number is reproducible from its raw input.

02 · Mission

Our mission

Make provisioning transparent, reproducible and audit-ready by default — so every number landing in the P&L can be traced back to a rule, a dataset and an approver.

03 · Platform

What we do

Onboard loan portfolios in minutes via the RDM canonical model, stage accounts under IFRS 9, run ECL with calibrated PD/LGD/EAD, capture management overlays under maker-checker and preserve an immutable audit trail for every governed write.

04 · Schema

Dynamic schema for custom reporting

Every bank carries its own segmentation, product codes and reporting cuts. ReconSight ships a RDM canonical core and lets each institution extend it with custom attributes, segments and dimensions on the fly — no engineering ticket required. Custom fields flow straight through to dashboards, regulatory extracts and audit packs, so finance, risk and supervisory reporting can build the exact view they need without forking the data model.

04a · Ingestion

Bring your data in — XLSX, CSV or live API

Three first-class on-ramps into the RDM canonical model: drop an XLSX workbook through the mapping studio, stream a CSV straight from your data warehouse, or wire a REST API connector that pulls rows from your core banking, loan origination or BI platform on demand. SFTP folders, read-only database connections and S3 buckets are configurable too, handled by the ReconSight sync agent. Every channel runs the same 22 data-quality rules, the same RDM mapping and the same audit trail — so the source of a number is always reproducible, whether it arrived by spreadsheet, pipeline or API call.

05 · SICR

Significant Increase in Credit Risk (SICR)

SICR is treated as a first-class, configurable policy — not a hidden rule. Quantitative triggers (lifetime PD change versus origination, both absolute and relative), backstops (30+ DPD, forbearance, watchlist) and qualitative overrides are defined per portfolio and versioned over time. Every stage-2 migration carries the trigger that fired and the threshold in force on that reporting date, so auditors can reconstruct any staging decision months later.

06 · Migration

Risk migration & stage transitions

The platform tracks account-level transitions between Stage 1, 2 and 3 across every reporting date, producing migration matrices, cure and re-default rates and cohort vintage curves. Risk teams can isolate worsening pockets early, finance can explain coverage movement period-over-period, and audit committees get a clear, evidence-backed view of where credit risk is actually moving in the book.

07 · Engine

Platform Risk Engine — assumptions, calibration & validation

The Risk Engine is built around each institution's own assumptions. PD term structures, LGD haircuts, EAD profiles, macroeconomic scenarios and scenario weights are parameterised per portfolio and versioned with full lineage. Our Big Four-trained assurance team works alongside each client to calibrate inputs against historical loss experience, challenge the chosen methodology, run independent back-testing and benchmarking, and document the validation evidence in the format external auditors expect — so model risk management, internal audit and the statutory auditor can review the same source of truth.

08 · Delivery

Full-stack delivery

ReconSight is delivered end-to-end: data onboarding and mapping, the governed IFRS 9 engine, dashboards and regulatory reporting, plus the surrounding services — model documentation, calibration support, internal-audit walkthroughs and external-auditor liaison. One vendor, one accountable team, one defensible number.
